WMR Tech Talk: Setting TPS / Idle Adjustment

TPS tells the engine control unit (ECU) how far the throttle is open, which helps the ECU to control fuel delivery and ignition timing. If the TPS is not set correctly, it can cause various problems. Watch the full video to get a complete breakdown from Paul on how to adjust your TPS.

This is a good video that just needs some fixing! I was super confused so the comments were helpful. To try to help, here's the quick steps: 1. back off both Yellow and Red knobs (CCW); 2. set TPS to 0.400; 3. turn RED KNOB in to 0.500: 4. turn Yellow Knob IN till 0.6500 after clicked in, use throttle to click off. 5. start bike and turn Red Knob in to 0.530 this helps

Proper instructions (red vs yellow knob) from 13:19 onwards. Red is idle (5v) yellow is cold start (6v when pressed in but will jump out when throttle rolled forwards and have no effect on rpm, leaving the red knob to keep the 5v setting). Hope that helps. This video seems to double up the instructions with knobs confused. The first run through is wrong 11:10 = ignore him saying the yellow is your idle. It's the red.

If you take off the tps... Switch on the key bring up the code for it and turn the throttle..will see it move..

this becomes crazy !! the color knobs are inverted 3/4 of way in so I just about loose it trying to do this !! PLEASE REDO THIS VIDEO AND PUT CAMERA ON EACH KNOB..LET ME KNOW WHEN IT'S DONE. THANKS

well you call both knobs "idle screw" ??? at least say top screw and bottom screw

That is not the proper calibration for KTM TPS and you should not be backprobing sealed connectors or they will no longer seal properly.
