Agriculture and bioenergy: the case of perennial energy crops

Показать описание
Bioenergy is renewable energy made available from materials derived from biological sources.Bioenergy crops are defined as any plant material used to produce bioenergy. These crops have the capacity to produce large volume of biomass, high energy potential, and can be grown in marginal soils. The sustainability assessment of a bioenergy crop must consider multiple aspects such as its productivity, energy balance of its cultivation and its ability to provide multiple ecosystem services. This video aims to describe a long-term experimental trial on the cultivation of perennial bioenergy crops at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Piacenza - Department of Sustainable Crop Production (DI.PRO.VE.S).
