REST is not a protocol, its an architectural style. It does not require HTTP and can be implemented over other protocols such as FTP.

You claim REST is easier than SOAP, I disagree. In SOAP you essentially add the <WebMethod> tag while in REST you have to learn a whole different way of doing things, at from what I have learned so far.
