In this video, we’re going to talk about COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is also often called emphysema.

Symptoms of COPD can include:
• Shortness of breath
• Coughing
• Mucus

COPD is a chronic condition that often leads to pulmonary hypertension. This is when the blood pressure in your lungs increases, which causes a lot of stress on the right ventricle of your heart. This will eventually weaken the heart and cause edema.

You have little pouches called alveoli in your lung tissue. When you have COPD, these pouches become deformed as a result of inflammation and irritation from smoke or some other chronic inflammatory substance. Alveoli exchanges CO2 for oxygen in the blood.

While the lungs try to heal, your body creates scar tissue in your lungs, also known as fibrosis. As this scarring builds up, you lose your ability to exchange CO2 and oxygen, which is why you have difficulty breathing.

What can you do for COPD? Here’s what research shows:
1. Get plenty of tocotrienols (300 mg)
2. Boost your vitamin D (40,000 IUs)
3. Fasting
4. Keto
5. Vitamin C
6. Osha root
7. Mormon tea
8. Vitamin B1
9. Stop smoking - smoke and nicotine are big problems when it comes to COPD

Correction: the right ventricle pumps blood (oxygen-depleted blood) through the lungs, and the left ventricle then pumps it through the rest of the body - my bad.

I have had COPD for years from smoking a pack a day plus weed for 40+ years. When I was diagnosed with a fatty liver, I started keto and IF and besides losing 70 pounds, I was cured from arthritis, hypertension, psoriasis, and my breathing improved dramatically. I credit Dr Berg & Ken Barry for all the info I needed. I quit tobacco 3 years ago, but keto and IF is what had all the impact on my overall health.

I was a 9/11 responder and started having shortness of breath shortly after. I was exposed to poison gas as well as all the other toxins down there. I have been watching some of your videos lately and found them very helpful. I have a multitude of specialists. I have COPD, GERD, and my thyroid got knocked out. One doctor did suggest a multi-vitamin. I became totally disabled in 2010. I am on oxygen 24/7. I can't walk around my house even with portable O2 without stopping to rest. Watching this video was more informative than any doctor visit. I will be trying your suggestions. I sure have nothing to loose. Thank you for producing this video.

I cried watching this. Been to a LOT of doctors and they haven't diagnosed me with this, only 'allergy' and giving me lots of medication that's surely bad long term.. And with this pandemic going on, I've been focusing on holistic approach.. I'm so happy I found Dr Berg, everytime I have a question that pops into my head, he always have a video explaining it. I've learned so much!

Thank you Dr Berg! My dad died March 28 this year after suffering years with COPD. In the end the heart Dr's told us his heart was his problem- his echocardiogram showed he was diagnosed with right side heart failure. They never connected the 2. But I see it now with your explanation why his heart failed. I watched him suffer more and more and struggle with breathing and everyday living. I can't express my gratitude enough for opening my eyes to this connection. I have been diagnosed with Asthma already and have already implemented keto and IF into my life as a way to NOT go the way my dad did. I have never smoked but believe my exposure to 2nd hand smoke and being overweight has caused my issues with Asthma. Because of your work here, I am now also going to add the Vit E, D3 and 72hr EF into my life to further become the healthy person that my dad could not be. Thank you, thank you for your work and sharing of information. I'm in tears here in gratitude.

I am both a covid and ventilator survivor. You have just given me more information about my lungs than my pulmonologist did. The only thing he offered me was steroid inhalers which I don't use. Now I have some good information. Thank you!

I quit smoking a few years now and got into breath work like Wim Hof teaches. What a challenge to quit in the beginning but such a freedom in the end. More excellent information from the great doc! Much respect and gratitude!!

My mother suffered 3 years with shortness of breath and cough. No doctor picked up on COPD. She eventually developed ARDS and passed away last year. I wish doctors understand the mechanisms of pathology like you do.

I have struggled with COPD for decades, but ever since i started intermittent fasting about a year and a half ago, i lost about 60 pounds of excess fluids and body fat, and reversed pretty much every chronic health problem that has plagued me for decades, including the COPD symptoms. And i am almost 66 years old and still smoke on a modest controlled basis. Imagine that.

Thanks so much for posting this. My dad had COPD. He died in March from a brain infection which I believe was, in part, caused by his very high carb diet.
I am grateful that he didn't die from COPD. That would have been even harder to endure.

I’m surprised that you don’t mention TURMERIC as an anti-inflammatory, I think it’s one of the best.
