Lost Years of Jesus - The Undocumented Life of Christ

Between the ages of 12 and 29, nothing is documented of the life of one of the most influential people in human history: Jesus Christ.

There are a few theories about what he did and where he went. The more traditional theories include him being a carpenter or studying with some of the influential Jewish factions of the time. Wilder theories include Jesus traveling to Britain, India, and even Japan. I also touch on some wild theories about the possibility of Jesus surviving the crucifixion.

Thanks for watching!

22:00 The theory about jesus being replaced by someone else is not believed by only small numbers of Muslims it is infact the mainstream belief about the crucifixion in Islam.

interesting stuff. Subscribed. Just one correction if I may, the substitution hypothesis is not believed by a small minority of Muslims, it is the canon narrative in Islam. It is explicitly said so in the Qur'an that Jesus was neither killed nor crucified and that they mistook him for another.

What Happened During Jesus' 'Lost Years' (Luke 2:42; 3:23)?
At the time Herod ordered all the young boys in Bethlehem to be slain, Joseph took Mary and Jesus and fled into Egypt. When the danger was past, they returned to their own country and settled in a town in Galilee: "And he [Joseph and his family] came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, 'He shall be called a Nazarene' [one who comes from Nazareth]" (Matthew 2:23).

From Nazareth, they would all travel to Jerusalem each year for the Passover. On one of those occasions, when He was 12, Jesus stayed behind in the Temple. Afterward, "He went down with them [His family] and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them" (Luke 2:51). So, Jesus evidently spent most of those years in Nazareth. Otherwise, people would not have known Him as a Nazarene.

After He was 30, Jesus preached in the synagogue in His home town: "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up" (Luke 4:16). Notice the reaction of the townspeople: "So all . . . marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, 'Is this not Joseph's son?" (verse 22). The people knew Him! This is confirmed when, on a similar occasion, in astonishment they said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And his brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us?'" (Matthew 13:54-56). The people knew His whole family, as this was Jesus' "own country" (verse 54; Luke 4:24).

Obviously, Jesus spent most of those 18 years between ages 12 and 30 in Nazareth where He was trained and where He studied. Whether or not He traveled to any foreign nation is not revealed in Scripture.

I’ve always thought he studied Zoroastrianism with the Magi, which is why they are included in the story.

When talking about Jesus being a carpenter the video you show while narrating is hilarious. Whoever it was couldnt hit the nail and was really struggling. Idk, i picture my Lord as being a master craftsman and not an idiot

I truly appretiate the effort you've made for this video. The only criticism I have to say is the lack of clarity between what is written in the bible, and what is historical fact.
For example:
"However, Joseph was warned in a dream, and he and Mary were able to escape with baby Jesus, and seek refuge in Egypt until it was safe home for them to return to Nasareth."
^ After this, you talk about the death of Herod, and what is the estimation of his death by historians, which in turn gives false validity to the previous part of the story.

For the casual viewer, it will appear as if historians accept the Jesus myth as reality, for which there is 0 evidence what-so-ever

Research these books check out there sources Nicolas Notovitch author of “Unknown life of Jesus Christ”gave an account of the 18 years of Isa (Jesus) life, this was based off of ancient scrolls in the Himalayan
Mountains at the Hemis Monastery, than Levi Dowling book “The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ”.

The Bible says Jesus was a carpenter in Nazareth. I guess that doesn't sound exciting enough to some people, so they just make things up

Its a fun concept to explore. Its onteresting to see how Jesus may have learned from, or educated the broader world before beginning his monistry and completing his final works. That said, any theory that has Jesus not as the on the cross nullifies the entire point of Jesus's life. If it wasnt Jesus, none of it mattered.
