The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission have temporarily halted its aquatic herbicide spraying program after people in the community say it's harmful to the lake and marine life.

There is another way to fix the water hyacinth problem on lake Okeechobee and make a profit doing so. In simple terms, if you chop it up, ferment it, then distill it. You get 92% Ethanol. The solid by-product is an awesome fertilizer. Money made from Ethanol and money made from fertilizer. Besides the fact it would create jobs, and clean the lake at the same time. They figured it out in Africa, which is working beautifully by the way. Why would it not be done here.

Well this entire story was a lie! Well covered BUT! Applied Aquatic is spraying several boats 40hrs a spraying at least 5 days a week. STILL SPRAYING!!
