Turnarounds on the low holes

Bars 11 and 12 in a twelve-bar blues are of crucial importance. They finish off the chorus you're on and set up the chorus you're about to play. Here are a handful of ways you can play those two bars, relying primarily on 1 and 2 hole draw. With Adam Gussow of Modern Blues Harmonica.

This is a great lesson. I dont know why but my bends just seem to be much easier today (playing this with an A harp) coming from the throat rather than the mouth. Its just like its switched on automatically. 😉 👍

I feel like the turn around is not much different than any other telegraphing an upcoming chord change, or am I thinking it wrongly.

It also seems to me that the turn around can be some kind of management of timing. If I think about a song like Juke, Little Walter seems to hit the first bar of each chorus fast and the turn arounds really allow you to get ready for that somehow. One specific of that is the 4th chorus split which leads into a series in the 5th.

Am I over thinking this?

I’m curious ive been playing blues harp for a while. When people say there a tounge player or they use there tounge. Are they saying they are touching there tongue on the comb of the harmonica. I use my tounge a lot but I never actually put my tounge on the comb whilst playing.

For some reason I always lose my Bbs. I know I just bought a LO to replace the one I lost but I can't find it. I'm playing along on a Paddy Richter Baby Fat so I don't have my bends on the three. Still sounding cool though. It actually harmonizes nicely with what you are doing.
