Volkswagen is apologizing for selling vehicles rigged to cheat emissions tests.

The EPA revealed that VW used software that allowed its diesel cars to release less pollution during tests.

The cars, built in the last seven years, include the Jetta, Beetle and Passat.

Volkswagen could be fined more than $18 billion dollars.

The company has stopped selling 2015 diesel cars with two-liter engines.

Almost all ecu's have some type of sub routine that don't make sense. IE..there's other purposes for these not instantly recognisable. Its been known for decades. Why all the sudden issues? DID VW not pay someone off as expected?
