Cultura - Holloman Legacy of Liberty Air Show 2022

In celebration of the Air Force’s 75th birthday, the 49th Wing at Holloman Air Force Base hosted the 2022 Legacy of Liberty Air Show and Open House, where more than 22,000 guests visited from around the world, marking the largest gathering at Holloman in over a decade.

The show included aerial performances from the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, known as the Thunderbirds, F-35 Lightning II demonstration team, A-10C Thunderbolt II demonstration team, and several legacy aircraft, including the World War II hero, the P-51 Mustang. On the ground, a wide range of aircraft were set up as static displays and accompanied by aircrew to interact with spectators as they inquired about their jobs and the air- craft itself.

Cultura producers were able to sit down with the planners of the event and with the 49th wing commander, Col Ryan Keeney to understand the history and legacy of Holloman Air Force Base, as well as the im-portance behind strong air power.

Cultura airs on 3-2 Sunday, the 19th at 12:00 noon and Tuesday, the 21st at 9:30 p.m. Watch it on 3-1 Sunday, the 19th at 11:30 a.m. and Thursday, the 23rd at 8:00 p.m.
