I actually bought my 1000 mile boots on sale for around $250. I've noticed they go on sale quite often as well. My advice buy these when they go on sale if you like the looks of them.

It finally happened. The review I’ve been waiting for for years. Thank You Rose Anvil!

Great review! This is the only way to truly see how a boot is constructed. I sent my brand new 1000 Mile cap toe boots to a cobbler. He installed a new split welt, thick leather midsole, heavy duty steel shank, full length Vibram corded outsole, and a leather heel block topped with a Dr. Sole rubber heel. My plan was to purchase a pair of Nicks Americana’s, but the wait time was going to be 6-8 months. This is my first pair of boots, so I definitely compromised and purchased a boot with a good leather upper, and upgraded from the midsole down. I will be purchasing a pair of Nicks next year. Thank you so much for your honest and informative reviews!

I love these thousand mile boots, if you go with the leather sole it really changes the feel of the boot for the better. They'll definitely wear out faster especially on concrete but man are they comfortable. Shoe trees are an absolute must with this super soft leather. I wonder if the switch to a fiberboard insole is a new thing, I've never had an issue with mine. Mine have been resoled 2 times now. Over three pairs I've never had the sockliner move or become unbonded. I think I paid around 280 for the newest pair in 2017. I'm not sure if that $400 is a new price or just MSRP.

Great vid as always. While watching started to think of what 1000 miles really is. For people working on their feet can easily walk 2 -3 miles a day. That is 500-750 miles per year. Can expect these to last several years so easily over 1k. Maybe obvious to most but thought was interesting. I have been wearing thorogood 6” max toes for at least 3 years so well over 1k miles for lesser brand.

This is the video I've been waiting for. Last year I bought the cap toe version of these boots and so far I've been happy with them. After seeing your opinion of them I'm still happy and I figure if there's any issues with the areas you pointed out my local shoe repair guy can probably fix them up.

I have an old pair of Wolverine shoes I bought in 1990. So, I just pulled them out of the closet to wear today. Thanks for reminding me about them. Odd feature, they have two rows of grommets in separate strips for the laces to go thru...

Hey Weston, just wanted to say thanks for pointing out the pigskin lining in these boots, as it helps those of us who are Muslims/Jews from accidentally buying them. I actually wanted the Wolverine 1000 mile, and I was also looking into Lucchese before you made the video a few weeks back, so you helped me avoid spending a lot of money on boots I wouldn't be able to wear (I usually give them away to my best friend otherwise). It really means a lot to viewers like me!

Working in labor for decades I enjoyed my Wolverine boots once I could afford decent boots, but they lost my business when they stopped building in Rockford. I switched to Red Wing and have had great experiences with their products.

I don't understand why I am so hooked to all these videos. I'm super basic and just rock some artists or flip flops and that's about it. Yet I find myself watching this channel ALL the time. Videos are put together great. Keep the videos coming yall

I've had my 1000 miles for a decade and I love them, but they're not without issue. I probably would have gone a different direction on what boots I bought back then if your channel had existed. You do great work and I for one appreciate you.

Panama soled Altama/McRae desert boots are the only boot I have experience with that will make it past 1000 miles with zero maintenance. I keep returning to them because they’re light weight, comfortable and stay cool in the US southwest desert. If you don’t need a steel toe or cold weather insulation, give them a shot.

People can wear their boots from one to three miles every day. 365 days a year. 1, 000 miles can happen in 1 to 3 years. Nobody will buy a boot if you tell them that it will last at least a year. For a lot of us, that is why we get new boots every year.

Would love a video on some Indonesian boot makers such as Sagara, Txture, and Junkard just to name a few. Typically around this price range if you go for local leathers and are a handwelted construction. Urban Shepherd, Taft, and Parkhurst would also be cool to see.

It would be really interesting to list the costs of the materials you’d like to change. How much extra would a full leather heel cost? How much extra for a full sock liner? For $400 there has to be a little extra margin in there somewhere.

Also, I wonder if these comparisons are off a bit. Wolverine is selling boots that presumably will end up in a retail store. They’re pricing their boots with the normal retail markups. Whereas other brands are basically selling direct. They’re not building boots with a wholesale and retail margin. So, maybe if Wolverine was selling direct without a retail markup, these boots would be selling for $200-$250.

I'd love to see which boots would be best for motorcycle use! I know it isn't the purpose of most boots, but some recent intros of yours show you starting up a bike. Would love to see your feed back on boots that would work best for wear and tear on motorcycles!
