Thanks for the video. What are the batteries rated at? The old GoPro batteries are rated at 1050mAh and the new ones are rated at 1180mAh. What were your three rated at? Thanks

Actually, it appears the one on the right charges at 600ma while the one on the left charges at 500ma. Not quite identical but there is only a small difference.

Funny it says 5hrs of life at times on the battery when you turn it on I'm assuming that's not constant recording, just bieng turned on taking pics etc .

Just a quick note, the chargers are in fact slightly different. The Wasabi charger appears to output 500mA while the Smatree outputs 600mA

How about a test with the new +battery in the "old" Hero3? Would be interesting how much of the extra time that is due to the battery and the software.

Hello Tony Lee Glenn, since i dont know many things about GoPro Hero HD 3 black edition cameras, could you tell me, if i buy a gopro 3 black edition camera in a shop, do i also get these batteries and the charger? I am really afraid, that i will buy this camera, but then ill also have to buy all the parts or requirements seperatly, i would deeply appreciate if you would either send me a PM telling how it works or just replying to this comment!

Hey Capt. Dave. Sorry for slow response. I might try that. I'm still getting good time from my Smatrees - still seems to get me more time than the Wasabis, but I still like the Wasabi price. Yes I did get two more Hero3s for 3-angle driving vids I post on my channel. Cheers!

Is there any HD3+ Battery test information?  I heard only GoPro itself got several kinds of batteries for HD3+.  Made by TCL, and made by uER ( which is Foxconn Group company).  Can you, make some comparison of those GoPro batteries?

I use the Wasabi and Smatree chargers for all my batteries - even the original GoPros. They work just great.

Hey Oliver. The phone charger works great. I charge my batteries with a phone charger often. Also, if you mount a Gopro as a dash cam, you can power it indefinitely with your phone charger. You can't power it while recording with your computer USB though. It will charge from a computer usb, but when attached to the computer (and turned on) it will act as a hard drive - for offloading data, or uploading data. Works great with phone charger either way though - as charger or power source for record

I'm not too interested in the wasabi or smatree batteries, but looking to get one of those chargers to charge the original batteries I already have. Is it safe to do so? Any advantages and disadvantages?

Takes about an hour with the wall charger. You can hook them up to your cell phone charger in the car if you have the correct usb cable.

also, i wonder if the test would turn out differently if all 3 batteries were charged in a gopro hero3. The chargers are kind of cheap... im curious if they do as good of a job to charge the battery as the gopro does. The chargers cost less than the batteries in china, the chargers are less than $2.5 and the batteries are less than $4 each.

also do you think the wasabi is really 1200 or also just a marketing scam? do they just print what people want to hear so that they can charge 2X as much?

there is a generic chinese battery for gopro hero3 that is 1300 and only costs 1/2 the price of the wasabi (if you buy them both in china)
