ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop, Steve Nicol and Alejandro Moreno share their thoughts on Lionel Messi's comments after he received a red card in Argentina's 2-1 win over Chile in the Copa America third-place match. Moreno calls Messi's comments "irresponsible," but admits that the Barcelona star's strong tone could endear him even more to Argentina's fans. Nicol shows his support for the Argentina captain by saying, "sometimes you have to get how you're feeling off your chest even when you know you'll be fined."

Whatever Messi does is not enough. When he is silent they come out and shout he is not a leader when he speaks up its too much

Why don't they just release the referee/VAR room recordings? We know they have them.... if conmebol is really innocent and messi is off his rocker, why dont they release what they were communicating during those moments? It would get this settle pretty quickly

2 year ban wont happen. They will lose too much money by not letting Messi play, and they know that.

Just remember in 2009 When Drogba and ballack complained about corrupt referees, they were hammered with match bans and huge fines

The real question: Will the refs be punished for being allegedly corrupt?

Messi usually doesn’t complain, when he is tackled he usually stays quite and proves you wrong or scores against you. The way that game was called was horrible. That being said why would Messi say all this? When he lost against Liverpool or against Roma last year and the year before that I didn’t hear him complain. He’s lost before but had never said anything like this.

What’s the purpose of implementing VAR into our beautiful game and only use it occasionally in other terms when it suits them... comnebol are cannibals😂

Bro, everyone knows Fifa is corrupt. That's why we're having the next world cup in Qatar, of all places. Look it up. They spent hundreds of millions IN BRIBES just to be the host nation. Disgusting.

Honestly he can speak his mind, if They censor him, he will be 100% right, if he cant voice his opinion then clearly something is wrong

The fact that he can’t even speak his mind is already corrupt 💯

The real question is will the referees be punished for being so dogshit LMAO. Not only for argentina, but practicly every team competing, pretty funny how the best reffed game in the whole tournament was the final after the spotlight was put on them.

The anger of Lionel Messi was because the Var didn’t check some polemic situation against Brasil. It was the only match that was happened. In the final Brasil vs Perú there was 2 Var checking and Ok. That is what about the Var. To help no do like the Var doesn’t exist anymore.
