I love how the girls eventually get to know Hitori well enough that they can see her mental breakdowns the same way she envisions them. It shows that they are on the same wavelength and can sense one another's emotions in a way.

I love how when bocchi is going insane it can just be an excuse for the artist to not try drawing well and it makes it better

I love how the way they say “Bocchi-chan exploded all over the floor!” suggests that this is something that happens regularly and that they’re used to it at this point

I love how they already so in tune with each other when bocchi did weird stuff, all of them agree she just exploded.

I really love Bocchi in this episode.
She's super depressed because it's the last day of summer break, and her friends realize "oh no! I bet Bocchi wanted to go somewhere, but she couldn't work up the courage" - it's not explicitly Bocchi's fault for not taking initiative because her friends know that that's extra hard for her.

And then even when they're riding to the beach, Bocchi is just dead the whole time. The despair of having done nothing all break. But then she sees the beach and immediately bounces back to "oh! the beach, this is nice, I'm glad I came". It's hard for her to initiate things, she might even resist, but she enjoys it once she actually makes it.

And then an unexpected person tries to be all social with her and she pops like a balloon.

It's such a great depiction of social anxiety. She struggles, even knowing she'll like the end result, because it's just much harder for her brain to cooperate. But her friends know this and gently pull her along. It's so sweet.

I don't know why I wasn't expecting her to explode, but wow, she actually did explode.

my favourite part of this show is how the wacky cartoon nonsense isn't just an abstract representation of bocchi's anxiety, but an actual physical thing that really happens that's acknowledged by the rest of the cast
