Just discovered this channel and I love your review style and content. I was looking for review on "The Master and Margarita", and that was awesome; so full of interesting, thoughtful comments and lot's of detailed information. Will defintely look into "The Savage Detectives". Lot's of videos to watch, also hope all is well with you.

This is such an underrated novel - one of my favourites that's always in the shadow of 2666. I'm happy to hear you call it his masterpiece. I remember being joyed seeing the protagonists through the lens of all the other character; however, it was quite jolting to get used to the multi-perspective entries but I found the novel quite impactful - I cannot nail down why.

^Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this work. I certainly see myself re-reading this quite soon. What did you make of the images at the ending? The shapes.

Hi Juan, what boxed set is that in the bottom left of your shelf (just above your shoulder)? The portrait looks so familiar but I just can’t place it!

I’m currently reading 2666 right now and it’s absolutely fabulous - I really enjoyed your review.

what do you think about the possibility juan garcia mader might be a fictional creation of either lima or belano? No other characters in the book mention him except one who notes that he never heard of him, yet garcia madero knows intimate detaills of the visceral realists and is the only testimony in the book of what happens in the sonora desert at the end of the book. i think the diary of Garcia Madero might be some sort of veiled confession in the aftermath of the events at the end of the book.
