Press ALT and at the same time RIGHT CLICK. Dragging Left or Right controls brush size and Dragging Up Down controls brush hardness (with the ALT key always pressed)

Doesn't work, by pressing alt+ctrl and dragging with left mouse button it just copies the layer.

Ps 2021 for pc Alt + right click and drag for change size

Ctrl + Alt just make a copy of my current layer for me and drag the copy wherever I stop dragging.
From what I read in the comment, some users appears to have different default settings and if you get the same issue, the default key for what @Photo Feaver means might be a combination of Alt and the RIGHT mouse button and drag.

Wrong info, the correct key combination is Alt+ Right Click(hold and drag)

Just hold alt key. No need to press ctrl. I got other problem. I can't see red indicator of edge softness. All i can see is an empty circle. Any ideas?

after switching from windows to Mac, was tough to figure this out, Thankyou for this informative video. Much Appreciated

For me it was only ALT (in PC) and right mouse button, not left.

So when i try to increase/decrease the brush, the brackets do not work. They were working before, but i think i must have pressed something, and they are no longer responding. I checked to see if the brackets worked themselves when i type and they do. So the keyboard is fine. i just think they are locked.
