1978 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sprint Veloce

Показать описание
The Alfetta was produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1972 to 1987. It was popular due to its combination of a modest weight with powerful engines.
The Alfetta introduced a new drivetrain layout to the marque. Under the hood, the classic all-aluminum DOHC engine was of the same basic architecture that had been around since the early '50s. but the clutch and transmission were housed at the rear of the car, together with the differential, for a more balanced weight distribution. The transaxle set up is similar to modern day front engined Ferrari, Maserati and later C6 and C7 Corvettes. This configuration translates to additional room in the cockpit appealing to even the tallest of drivers. The suspension was also advanced: double-wishbones and torsion bars in front , Rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel-disc brakes which were inboard at the rear.
The four-cylinder coupé was available from 1975 to 1977 under the name Alfetta GT and renamed the Sprint Veloce for the final two years of production in 1978 and 1979.
This particular well preserved example has just under 16,500 miles, It spent a large portion of its existence in storage from the early 1990's to around 2012. Lovingly refurbished by an Alfa Romeo/Maserati enthusiast in Florida.
The vehicle is well balanced and easy to drive. Desirable power to weight ratio and a forward thinking design make this car feel more advanced and more modern than most other automobiles that were conceived in the 70's.
