If you read the first book, I’m pretty sure fire star was a house cat, then was firepaw, gray paw was his freind, and then he’s a leader so that explains the last one more to me

i get that everyone has their own opinions, but these reasons, , , theyre kinda hot ass
1. "theyre both meds" yeah??? and??? several medicine cats didnt give a flying fuck about their code and chose to love and even have kits anyways, leaf included. plus leafpool and mothwing had pretty good chemistry with eachother compared to leafpool and crowfeather, the canon couple mind you. dont try to get me with "theyre related" either, because they dont have even a drop of blood in relation to eachother once you realize sandstorm's dad being redtail was a complete unofficial retcon from the abstract horror known as kate cary's facebook.
2. "theyre step siblings" this is the one out of the two actually plausible reasons, so im not gonna say anything on it. edit: uhh theyre most likely actually cousins. still not gonna say anything about the reasoning
3. "toxic and lies" second plausible reason, exceeeeppt its moreso just toxicity rather than lies; whenever squilf lied to bramble, she was doing it since it was what seemed like what was right. small reminder that starclan themselves told her to lie about the three's parents and say that they were her's.
4. "theyre best friends!!!!" friendships can develop into romantic relationships.
also, CREDIT THE ARTISTS!!! not that hard to do my guy/gal.

I’m always confused when characters being “Best friends” is the reason given for hating a ship. Because isn’t it a good thing to fall in love with your best friend? Because you already know them and have a good bond?

JayFeather and FlameTail are cousins not step Brother and ain't actually blood related because Flametil comes from TigerClawStar's side not FireStar's and Jayfeather doesn't have TigerClawStars Blood because he come from CrowFeather and LeafPool but you could argue the Medicine cat thing because they both are Med cats.

Side note about med cats i agree with you because that's like Shipping a Nun with anyone it goes completely against what they stand for in their specific faith to NOT have a partner regardless of their feelings. Shipping can seem harmless but it can be very harmful thing as well to the people or character it has effect on. Same with the Bestfriends thing people always push it too far when they don't need to go any further then what is already fine, I know so many relationship have been broken because of people shipping and i know characters have been destroyed over it as well or rewritten or ended because of it. Sorry that was a bit of a rant but needed to get off my chest XD

1. Yes they are meds, but a LOT of med cats do break the code (like LeafPool did) plus LeafPool’s dead and I’m not sure but I think that MothWing is still alive

2. Yes, they are step-bros and as a JayFeather fictionkin, this makes me gag 😵‍💫

3. Honestly, they were a really great couple at first but it went down hill when AshFur took over BrambleStar’s body 🫤

4. You explained it perfectly! They both have mates in StarClan and there just great friends!
