Regarding IPL 2025 Mega Auction, BCCI and IPL GC had a big meeting with the owners of all 10 IPL teams on 31 July, on which no decision was taken, only suggestions were taken from all 10 teams, how many players will be retained, whether it should happen, whether RTM card should be used or not.

Now big updates have come regarding IPL 2025 Mega Auction. While big updates are also coming for GT, RR.

The first biggest news is about the Mega Auction where in that meeting of BCCI
KKR, CSK, SRH, MI, RR these 5 big teams were not wanting Mega Auction but Mini Auction for IPL 2025 this time.

So PBKS, RCB, DC, LSG, GT were wanting Mega Auction.
There was a heated discussion between the team owners as well.
But now the final decision of BCCI and IPL Governing Council has come, that this time there will be only Mega Auction for IPL 2025, there will be no Mini Auction.
The Mega auction has been sealed.

The second update has come regarding retention before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
In that meeting, KKR, CSK, SRH, MI, these 4 teams were demanding to retain 7-8 players, so that they can retain their main players.

While PBKS, LSG, GT, these 3 teams were asking to retain maximum 3-4 players so that all the teams change completely from IPL 2025.

On this, the BCCI official has told that the BCCI
board may permit teams to retain up to six players,
The last mega auction took place in 2022, then only maximum 4 players were allowed to be retained. This time BCCI is considering retaining 6 players instead of 4.

Last time RTM card was not used in IPL 2022 mega auction. This time BCCI can allow RTM card in IPL 2025 mega auction.
Rahul Dravid likely to replace Kumar Sangakkara in the Rajasthan Royals team as a Director of Cricket/Head Coach. (Cricbuzz).
- Sangakkara might move to the ECB as England Head Coach.

There is uncertainty over Ashish Nehra's future as Gujarat Titans head-coach.
