Imane Khelif & Lin Yu Ting won Gold in both their respective Weight Divisions in Women's Boxing at The Paris 2024 Olympics. Something which has caused huge controversy due to doubts surrounding their eligibility to compete in the Women's category.

Keep the pressure on. Caster Semena has since fathered two daughters. 3 Men were first 3 in RIO 800m.Disgraceful. People saying Imane is female because of childhood pictures. 5 ARD becomes known at puberty. If not then certainty when 2 tests come back XY and no appeal launched. People with this DSD have masculine features but less facial hair than normal males. Both Imand and Lin Yu Ting have these features. Both worked hard on training before Olympics knwing they hade the male power advantage and would be allowed to compete. Coaches go looking for these type of people. Granted there has been slander on social media, understandably so. Imane crying about bullying when he is doing exactly that in the ring 😢

the IBA tests were bloodtests.

- Blood sample collection was made on 17 May 2022. Sistem Tip Laboratory from Istanbul (License Number: 194-MRK) issued its report on 24 May 2022, after the competition ended. The laboratory detected results that didn’t match the eligibility criteria for IBA women’s events.
- Blood sample collection was made on 17 March 2023. Dr Lal PathLabs from New Delhi issued its report on 23 March 2023. The findings were absolutely identical to the first test results.

Khelif and Lin were informed accordingly about the decision and acknowledged it by signing the papers. The test details were attached to the letter.

Amendments made by the Board to the T&C Rules:
Definition of Men/Male/Boy = individual with chromosome XY.
Definition of Women/Female/Girl = individual with chromosome XX
Rule 4.2. Eligibility on Gender:
4.2.1.Boxers will compete against boxers of the same gender, meaning Women vs Women and Men vs Men as per the definitions of these Rules

Khelif was probably born with xy chromosomes with DSD 5-ARD deficiency.. Internal testes and no ovaries ... As such, Khelif was misassigned at birth as a female .. same as Caster Semenya and Brittany Griner ...
However when Khelif reached puberty, the question that could be asked is did his xy chromosomes kick in (specifically the y chromosome) releasing normal male levels of testosterone from his testes and resulting in all the attributes associated with being a male (muscle mass, bone density, lung capacity, larger heart, broader shoulders, deeper voice] Or if he did not have external testes but atrophied intra-abdominal testes, which does seem likely then he could well have had very little testosterone secreted throughout his puberty not giving him this massive advantage that seems to be automatically assumed. For me this is a tragedy on a personal level as there is probably no doubt she is male and she could well not been endowed with the physical advantages of being a male.

thank you Gareth for such common sense approach. and yes a gender ID test and passport is a must! my niece is about to go pro and the thought she could fight a someone who is using a loop hole to gain an advantages in a dangerous sport is so wrong in all levels. I just hope this is done correctly to avoid a death of someone due to this issue. men fight men and woman fight woman.

I’d be interested to know if this condition presents itself at birth or growing up, or can someone grow to an adult and not know they have this genetic disorder? Imagine dedicating your life to a sport and making it to the elite level, only to then get tested and banned from competing. How gutting would that be! On the other hand If one has knowingly had this advantage it’s a different story and the rules have clearly not been sufficient to allow this to happen.
