CAVALERA re-recordings of Sepultura's first EP, Bestial Devastation, and first full-length album, Morbid Visions, are out on July 14, 2023 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Max Cavalera comments, “As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

Iggor Cavalera states, “I always felt like the recordings of our earlier work didn’t do justice to the way we performed the songs. So, this is a very special moment in our lives that we are very proud to show you real fans our true representation of the amazing records Bestial Devastation & Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity…enjoy and see you all in the pit”

Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground. The albums were produced by Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the engineering. Arthur Rizk was responsible for the mixing and mastering of both albums. CAVALERA enlisted Eliran Kantor to create the artwork for both albums.

When you approach 50 years old, you can't help but think "what if" I had the wisdom/knowledge I have now, but transported back to when I was a young angry teenager with the energy to match. I think with this, the Cavalera brothers have proved it would indeed, be fucking great

As a student in the mid-80s I bought this on cassette from Cugomelo and there was Carmina Burana as an intro. Perfect times.

That's great! It feels like I'm 13 years old again and I'm going to school through the slums. In Russia in the late 90s, this music helped me survive. And karate

In 1989 at the amazing age of 17 I had a Maxell cassette tape with one side being Obituary- Slowly We Rot and the other side Sepultura- Morbid Visions!
My baptism of hellfire into raw, unrelenting, murderous death metal! There was no turning back once that happened. Absolutely no retreat.

To this day I still look forward to revisiting those golden days of glorious extreme metal discovery throwing on the headphones and at full volume jamming out to both albums at the age of 49! Morbid Visions more so than Slowly We Rot to be honest. Although both are monumental debuts forever to be classics and high point achievements straight from the pits of Hades itself.

As far as this re-recording of Morbid Visions is concerned... 🤘🔥💀🔥🤘

I must confess I was quite skeptical about this, not a fan of re-recordings but this is flawless!!

I was so unbelievably happy when I found this. My first ever cd was chaos AD, I got it from my father 1996 and it just changed my life.
After that I saved money and bought all the previous sepultura albums. And I always loved the morbid visions album, I loved the songs and the primitive production, but the sound of that album of course sounds very rough on modern speakers.
This re-recording PERFECTLY captures the original chaos, youth, rebellion, and fuck off attitude of the original release, I can’t believe this is real!!!
This is just perfect.
Please please please do a re recording of schizophrenia also, I beg you ❤
Igor and Max thank you so much for all you have given me, I can’t put into words all the memories you have created for me. If you read this I will be so happy.
Thank for everything ❤

I became a fan of Sepultura in the Roots era, but this early days songs are still a punch in the face more than 30 years later. Long life to Max & Iggor!

The history of Cavalera brothers is the true history of hard work! Respect and long long live!

I began listening to Sepultura at age 11 with Chaos A.D. Schizo was the furthest back I listened to. When I first heard about the re-recording I admit: I was skeptical. But, man, listening to this is great. The 80s lo-fi vibe remains truthful to the original, with superb musicianship from Cavalera brothers and co. What a delight. 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

This sounds vicious. I love how feral Max sounds. Pure metal and chunky tones.

The Cavalera brothers have righted a great injustice, giving this material new lfie. Nasty, crunchy and dirty OG death/thrash. Outstanding!
