Paul Bakery (Phantom Gourmet)

Founded in France over 125 years ago, Paul Bakeries can now be found all over the globe, including right here in our own backyard at their latest shops at Assembly Row in Somerville, the Natick Mall, and Boston's Downtown Crossing. And while the recipes have been passed down through generations, the decor is an elegant blend of old and new... featuring paneled walls, checkered floors and faux bookshelves.

Paul is really good, and hugely popular in France. In highschool, I lost all my money to them, because their macarons are too good, and I couldn't help myself. They cost 2.60 each, so yeah, quite expensive, but ridiculously delicious.

I can’t believe it is as good as what you get in France. The ingredients are so much better in France. The packaged cheese I ate from a grocery store in Paris was better than the best cheese I have eaten in the US
