The reason we kiss and bow down before the Holy Icons is because as Eastern Orthodox Christians we Believe that created material such as wood and silver can be Deified by the Uncreated Energies of God.
Take the True Holy Cross for example. Despite it being composed of wood like any other cross the fact that it was used during the Crucifixion of our Lord and Served as the Tool for Salvation it was Energized by the Power of God (an Uncreated Energy which is fully Divine but is manifest in the Creation in a way that can be felt and understood by the senses and by the mind because it is not the Essence of God) hence the True Cross Ressurected the dead man during the funeral procession when Saint Helen visited Jerusalem precisely to find it.
The argument that the maker of this video uses is not complete and it is probably because (despite being an Eastern Orthodox) he is a victim and still infected with Roman 'catholic' propaganda that use the term 'veneration' to excuse what is clearly a pagan exercise of kissing and bowing down to statues.
The Roman 'catholics' do not follow the True Orthodox Dogma as found in the Patristic Writings so they keep presenting the frankly idiotic 'example' of people kissing the photos of relatives and friends who passed away as a form of expressing love. Well let's face it - only morons kiss kodak photos. Roman 'catboliciism' is big time screwed up and yes it is infested with idolatry due to heretical (in fact diabolic) dogma.
