Southern Hamburger & Potato Casserole
This is a recipe for a Southern Hamburger and Potato Casserole that my Mother and Grandmother used to keep me and my sister well fed! It is very kid friendly, and adults like it too! It is a truly southern creation and so quick and easy to make. Let me know what you think about our version and y'all enjoy.

So here ya go.
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 pounds ground beef
1 onion, finely diced
4 pounds potatoes and sliced about 1/4 inch
Salt and pepper
8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (about 2 cups)
2 10.75-oz cans condensed Cream of Bacon soup
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Spray a 13x9 baking dish with cooking spray and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add ground beef to skillet and brown, drain most but not all of the fat and then add onion to a large skillet, season with salt and pepper then cook until onions are translucent.
Add one layer of potato slices to the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle potatoes with salt and pepper. Top potatoes with 1/4 of the ground beef mixture.
Now add 1/4 of shredded cheese over top.
Repeat this process three more times.
Combine cream of bacon soup, milk, salt, garlic powder and pepper and whisk until smooth and combined.
Pour mixture over to of the casserole.
Cover dish with aluminum foil then bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Remove foil then continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender and dish is light golden brown and bubbly.
