Truck Frame CUT and SHORTENED ......

This is not a how to, but a how I do. This is the first time I shortened a truck frame. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger frame and I am using a 1987 Ford Ranger body. I got the job done, but not without issue. Fortunately everything worked out for me in the end. This was a great experience for me and I learned a lot!
I look forward to doing the next steps on this truck to get it on the road!

I always show my mistakes when doing stuff on YouTube. So others won't make the same mistake. Thanks for the video.

Paint that whole chassis and frame! You ain't hurtin nothin by protecting it against road salts and road chemicals! Even be good to paint the floorboards and the underside of the bed to!! I love small regular cab trucks. Wish they were still manufactured today, instead they want to stick you with a 4 door station wagon truck these days. I don't want a 4 door station wagon truck when a regular cab truck suits me just fine.

How's she goin'? I like the way you cut the frame and then used the angle irons to keep it in alignment. I think that helped a lot to get the frame as close as it was. You must have felt good when you were able to straighten out the frame with your tractor and hydraulic jacks!! It's going to be a nice rig. Take care!!

Hey, I'm gonna tell ya something here. I want to see much, much more of what your going to do with these trucks and especially the Datsun/Nissan trucks and Ford trucks, my favorite trucks, both Ford and Datsun/Nissan trucks of them all. If chevy, the chevy LUV trucks from 1972 till 1980 years. The Ford Courrier trucks same years, 1972 till 1983 till the Ranger took over. Let's go! Your super great! Love what you do.

You can inflate and deflate the tires to help level the frame FYI!

John Deere to the rescue again. Is there anything it can't do? My unmolested 2002 ranger sits higher on one side in the back. Maybe suspension gone wonky?

Me i will just bring the suspension bracket forward instead of cut a frame for safety check i like to keep my frame unmodify

Why not just shift the axle forward. Three inches not that much. Plus looks like the rear section of the frame is riveted.
