After 0.8 meters it has to be an “active” cable, meaning there’s signal booster chips in them, which are expensive.

The cable isnt type c, it is thunderbolt 4 i am pretty sure. They both fit in the same port but thunderbolt does a couple of more advanced stuff which a normal user most likely wont use. Also keep in mind that for a device to support thunderbolt it has to have a thunderbolt port. A type c port wont work with a thunderbolt cable but the opposite will work.

Thunderbolt cables are also “display” cables, you can connect from a Mac mini to a studio display. They even have HDMI of course on the Mac mini so it can connect to your TV.

This cable is the world's first, and the only cable that supports Thunderbolt 4 passive with longer than 1m. It's not expensive to pro users they have to use Thunderbolt 4 with longer than 1m. It's the only choice. Before this cable launch, everyone says the passive TB4 cable longer than 1m is impossible. But apple just did it.

I usually use Anker for every day charging but for data transfer I will use their $69 cables for speeds up to 120 GB per second !! You only need 1 or 2 cables. Makes transferring 4k videos and data a piece of cake !! You can’t deny Apple’s attention to detail and quality !!

No cable ever, anywhere should cost these BS prices. I had to spend over $70 for a Displayport cable that has had 1 inside wire changed making it proprietary therefor they charge $70 for a $5 cable FFS

Its just a normal thunderbolt 4 cable with an amplifier chip to make it faster at long distance. Its not worth $167 unless its the brand that adds that value for you
