We want to be the best specialty coffee in London and when people come into the shop I want them to feel like they're getting a break from their daily routine.
I want them to feel like they're coming to hangout with friends and that's why my team is really important because it's about creating that atmosphere.
Speed is so important to us.
We're not selling 100 pound pairs of shoes, we're selling coffee.
So our average transaction is, is much lower so it's critical that we can get customers through really quickly.
I think the speed of the transaction is helped by how easy Square is to use for the staff so they're not constantly looking for items and in fact when we have people come on for a trial shift we put them on the register because it's the easiest part of what we do.
If we didn't accept credit cards we would definitely lose business.
Over half our payments are credit card payments.
People are just getting rid of the cash altogether.
We use the dashboard to analyze our business, average transaction spend, what times are popular, what items are popular.
The analytics from the dashboard help us make decisions about everything about our business.
Being a small business owner is rewarding because you're doing something that you love. Uh, it might be really hard but also sort of stepping back at the end of the day and going, "WOW", we made this is, yeah, it feels pretty good.
