Peavey Radial 1000 Drumset Soundcheck

Here is a studio sound check with my Peavey Radial 1000 drums. I am tracking a few projects with these drums, and I thought I would share this with you. Very minimal miking, as was the client's request. Two overheads (Neumann U89's) and a bass drum mic (Shure beta 52). Listening with headphones will give you a better idea of the great natural sound of these punchy drums.
There is no EQ, compression, or any other effects being used so that he can add what he wants when mixing.
The Snare drum is a 6.5"x 14" Canopus Zelkova tuned tight.
The cymbals are:
Paiste 8: mini hi hats mounted
Sabian 13" HH hi hats
Zildjian Remix 12" hi hats mounted
Sabian 20" Jack DeJohnette Signature Ride
Sabian 16" Vault crash
Paiste 18" traditional crash

Nice! Peavy Radials! Brings me back to seeing Bobby Rock do a clinic during his time with Nelson. I remember the giant, tricked out, double bass kit he was playing on. I forgot how thin those shells were but they sounded great and had a unique look! Nice job Rick, superb playing, and thanks for defibrillating an old memory!
