Is the Kanto Region Overrated?

With the release of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let's Go Eevee on the horizon, many questions have arisen over whether or not the Kanto Region (that being the setting of these Pokemon Red and Blue/Pokemon GO remakes)gets too much love for what it is. With that said, we today seek to answer the question: is Pokémon's Kanto Region overrated? We hope to find out!

I am a Unova Region fan, not just that, but i also like Sinnoh, Alola, Hoenn and Kalos
I get very dissapointed when Game Freak forces Kanto fan service on all fans with "The first region is so well loved, this stuff was made for Gen 1 fans!"

Yeah, but what about me?
Why not Unova?
What about Sinnoh fans?
What about Johto fans that got only a remake, that also had Kanto, and never got attention anymore?
Does Hoenn only get a decent remake? After years of Hoenn fans craving some spotlight, all they got was that remake?
Kalos will end as a short lived Region with so many questions it's fans will never have?

My point is: It's 2018, Kanto already had a lot of fan service. GF must know that they don't have only Gen 1 fans, they must know that, you know, not everyone likes Kanto. Sure the first anime season was fun to watch as a kid, but hey, there are other 7 regions that can have some fan service! Not just a petty remake with new megas, forms and starters plushies, but a real spotlight and dedication that Kanto gets.

Because let's be real here, Kanto is bland, short, uninteresting and hands down generic.

I don't think it's overrated. Just oversaturated.

A lot of people feel nostalgic for it including me but I have more favorite regions I wish got more attention..In fact, it's gotten to the point where new Pokemon hardly get any attention aside from merchandise and then they're left alone while Kanto Pokemon continuously get new gimmicks and new forms.

yeah it is sadly I understand is pretty nostalgic I should know since I grew with it and I luv a bunch of pokes in there like charizard and newtwo but it isn’t as great as the blind fanboys claim it to be and it does get pretty annoying when it constantly gets in the spotlight in all honesty

No it's just annoyingly trapped in its debut. We're revisiting it decades later and not a single thing is added not even evolutions lines are completed and we're expected to do Red's journey beat for beat. Not even a single outside Pokemon intruding and becoming Kantonian forms.

Personally Kanto is my favorite region, probably because it is the one I grew up with.I didn't get to experience many of the newer regions for different reasons.I do know it isn't the best and I except that . Maybe in the future when I get to experience the newer regions my mind will change . (I love the editing in this video)

They said it would never come. That LPM had given up. But I never lost hope. This video may have been 2 months late, but it was well worth the wait. On the topic of Kanto, I see how it is definitely overrated and agree that it doesn't deserve all the praise it gets, but it is still great.
