I have worked many a train on Ordsall Chord when employed by British Rail. Love Manchester. Watch out for them crows!

Very nice video. Such a shame Ordsall Chord do not serve its real purpose of connecting on a regular basis North and South Manchester via Victoria station, but no surprise me as Castlefield Railway Corridor can not meet the huge demand of traffic through a 2 track layout to allow freight movements as well. Thus the reason more and more Trans Pennine Express services terminating their journeys in Manchester Piccadilly avoiding Victoria and the airport pushing bit by bit passengers to a short walk between platforms to get their connections instead, as on old and good years of the Steam Era when the railway system was divided by rival railway companies creating obstacles to functionality between services.
