UCSD Student Falls To Death From Dorm Room

Megan Healy has the latest on the death of an 18-year-old who had been a student at the university’s John Muir College.

I got an email the day after this happened bc I’m currently a student at UCSD. The backstory is: there was a party or something of the sort and the police came and he didn’t want to get caught or written up so he went to the bathroom and jumped out as a way to escape the police. When you’re intoxicated or really trying to get away, sometimes things like this don’t fully process. It’s terrible that this had to happen to him and me and everyone in my suite send prayers to his family.

This was a friend of my from childhood all the way up until he moved. He was my neighbor. It broke my heart, I still can't believe it.

Students at my college would jump from the top of the spiral stairwells. Parents, don't insist your child have a 4.0 grade average, take 5 extracurricular activities, etc... Don't push them too hard.

I think they need to start putting nest on every window to prevent people jump of the window

my friend goes to UCSD and was at that party. But she left before the cops arrived.

A student just recently fell out of a 3rd story dorm room here at my college, university of San Francisco. The new dorms they have built have no nets over the windows at all.

This happened at my university too. The week before everyone went home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a student fell (or jumped, don't know for sure which) off the fourth floor of a dorm and died.

OMG...just last night I was thinking about how a student jumped from the same dorm (I think) the day I moved on campus in fall of 1974! Then this shows up in my YouTube feed!!!

I guarantee you there will be a lawsuit. I saw a You Tube video showing how low those windows are. Looked pretty damn scary. Ridiculously low, even.
