Holy god, I just realized something about this. Notice how you can hear a heartbeat that eventually gets cut off?

Imposters win once there aren’t enough crewmates left, not when every crewmate has been slaughtered. What if the heartbeat represents the remaining crewmate(s)’s heartbeats, before it gets cut off because they get killed by the imposters?

The heartbeat in the background represents the remaining crewmates. When it gets cut off, it means the imposters have already killed them offscreen

A lot of people don't realise, but the movie "The Thing" had a background track like this during the beginning and in scary moments. Using the same "heartbeat" effect. It makes sense since InnerSloth said that they were inspired by said movie for this game.

You're the last man standing. It's only you and him. The one who tricked you and betrayed you, the one who pit your crew against each other, only for them to be wrong each time. If they didn't kill each other, then he killed them himself. As cyan is cast off into the lava, you hear the impostor laugh maniacally as you realise your fatal error. It's over. You lose, and soon you'll lose your life too.
