Nice tutorial! But you forgot to mention to the viewer that this process is not a high resolution replacement. As of now Photoshop only allows 1024x1024 pixels of high resolution. People that are learning this process needs to be aware of why their selection replacements look a little bit soft.

I'm new to photoshop so I'm not sure if it's just me but the generative fill option doesn't pop up after I circle a subject with the lasso tool. Is there a setting I should have on for it to pop up after circling unwanted people in my photos?

Is generative fill a lot quicker to generate results in the US? In the U.K. or Europe it takes three times as long as this to produce its results. Someone needs to test this with a timer, and publish the results online in a YouTube video.
Or Maybe the video was edited?
