If you want to see better the things happend in the video use youtube speed option and bring it to 0.25

This is too fast even at .25x speed! Perhaps you could do a separate video showing only the modeling at normal speed?

Can someone explain 0.33 - 0.35 how the vertices were grouped then expanded (I understand snaps were used on the grouped vertices to get a 45deg) - but the group and expand I cannot work out. It obviously isn't weld as you cannot release a weld..
