Hozier – Eat Your Young | Kinetic Typography Animation (Motion Design)

I tried Kinetic typography to mirror the intensity and emotion of Hozier's 'Eat Your Young,' using bold motion graphics to amplify the lyrical meaning. School work created using After Effects and Illustrator.

DUDE THIS IS SO Deserves so many more views! The visuals were so smooth!! I also loved the inclusion of the Saturn Devouring His Son visual, it's a perfectly gruesome match for lyrics like 'its quicker and easier to eat your young'

This is great, Keo. It's almost perfect IMO, there's only one thing that I think you will have to pay attention to in the future. The overlay you used to make it look slightly 'dirty'. Because it never changes and it sometimes break the feeling that the camera is actually moving through a whole 'world' so to speak. I hope it makes sense. I'm really curious about how would it look without that! Great job nevertheless, it's amazing and you put a lot of work into it, congrats, I don't think I'd ever be able to pull it off!

I love how there's no animation for "skinning the children for a war drum" it captures the suddenly horrific feeling of that lyric when the rest of the song is vaguely coded metaphors. But here no visual is needed. The blunt horror of the line speaks for itself.
