Pixel 9 Drama! Team Pixel Bribing Creators to Love Pixel 9?

Leaked agreement as part of Team Pixel.
As someone thats been apart of Team Pixel before, I'm incredible sad to see what they've become. Back when I was on Team Pixel - we never had this type of agreement. In fact, they encouraged us to be as open as possible.

Sounds like the want actual influencers and not reviewers to do product placement. For example, logos on a jersey or ads on a basketball court there’s no positive nor negative. It’s just there. Another example would be taking out the phone from your bag or purse without talking about it just saying oh here’s my pixel phone.

I believe companies do the same with movies. They pay to have their product in the movie, but there is no positive or negative view on it. It’s just there.

This is why I trust you and Techodyssey. You give honest reviews. You purchase the products with your own money. You call out their good and bad decisions. I love that about yall.

If a channel cannot give an unbiased honest review of a product regardless of the manufacturer then they have no business calling themselves a tech reviewer. I’ve unsubscribed from channels in the past that are only biased to one brand. As a viewer I understand people have a preference, but that doesn’t mean other products are worse or better in different areas. Also it’s not a good look for Google regardless because of their current legal verdict of being a monopoly. If they want to keep themselves on good terms with consumers. They need to step in and straighten this up. Well what little consumers still buy their subpar phones. No offense intended to Mark lol.

The real issue here is that growing reviewers have yet to efficiently monetise for the value they add and are inevitably drawn in by becoming an influencer/ambassador. Channels like this need to find ways to leverage their viewers or we lose them to bias simply because they want to keep the lights on/cash in on their hard work.

I think what #TeamPixel is trying to do is make sure that they partner with pixel enthusiast because there are some YouTube creators who say that there Team pixel but then they crap all over the product and I think a company if you go to market your product you don’t want to be in partnership with people who are crapping over your product. Doesn’t mean that they can’t crap on it. It just means that you’re not parting with them or pay them to be crapped on.

I think maybe they worded it poorly because I don’t think they really mean that their phones couldn’t be compared with other phones because their areas were pixel just kill the competition, but I think they worded their agreement poorly.

It's pretty naive to suggest Google is not complicit in this. Just because there's a third party that administers it doesn't mean anything Google has to sign off or at the very least delegate this responsibility to them.

I would probably skip the Pixel 9 series this year in favour of the iphone 16 series 🤦🏾😫. We'll see.

Talks about Tensor being one or two generations behind every year, battery and promised Zoom Enchance which took whole year to come. Seems like they don't like the truth. But then again, this is what Apple always did, only glaring, good reviews otherwise you are gone, even like Apple used to always turn off comments and likes for their product videos. Or things like Samsung ambassadorship, especially with celebs and flip phones, yet you see them use Apple or post via Apple.
