Want to Order a new vehicle? Here is some info you may not know! 2023 and 2024 vehicle ordering..😲

ordering and building for dream ride may seem simple. I'll explain why there are some variances you may not know about when building a 2023 or 2024 dream truck or car, from ford, chevrolet, ram and so on.

I can’t speak for Ford or Ram but GM works off of an allocation method for orders. So you go to a dealer and try and order a truck, that dealer will definitely take your order and they will go through the process just like you said. BUT if they don’t have an allocation for a truck then GM won’t pick your order up until they do.

So if they do have an allocation the next order of importance is current option constraints. And these change every week and the dealers general manager will get a list every week of what’s on constraint along with what their vehicle allocations are. So if you have the allocation and then pick a bunch of options that are on constraint (it could be anything from floor mats to an engine option) then there’s a chance your order won’t be accepted by GM until that constraint goes away. This is when the dealer calls and ask if they can change your order to get your order picked up and the manufacturing process started.

At that point your in and your truck will be built and it’s just a waiting game from there. You guys out west have to deal with shipping more so than the east coast guys but that’s the next most likely delay in getting a truck that’s ordered.

Do you notice if you build a custom online it shows wood trim on the doors/sterling wheel trim after you add the pcx Custom Convenience Package, but none on the dealer lot have that trim.

So if I build a truck for 67, 000 let’s say. Now if I take it to a dealer can they add their dealer mark up making it a higher price? If what I am saying even makes sense. Thanks Adrian

Funny Story...
I've been lusting after a new Ford Maverick for over 2 years BUT the demand is so high & their production is so low I have been
reluctant to order one after my BIL had to wait 2 years for his! So, the other day I was thinking isnt someone with a Maverick fallen
out of love with theirs yet? Does the dealer have a used one took in as a trade? So I looked and !SURPRIZE! they have a brand new
2024 Maverick TREMOR XLT incoming. So we called and found this truck has yet to be spoken for so we put down a deposit and
it will be ours when it arrives.

If I order a ford truck, can the MSRP change from the day I ordered it from dealer to the day I actually buy it. Ex. 42000 increases to 45000
