For anyone looking for extra clarity:
A Wifi Pineapple is attached to a parabolic antenna, up in the apartment building. We brought a few prototype OMG Cables down to the street and plugged them into Dade’s Android phone. The OMG Cable is configured to run a payload every time it sees the SSID from the Pineapple. The payload types the word “ping” into Dade’s Signal chat client and sends it to me. When my phone receives the chat message from Dade, it plays the loud chime sound that you keep hearing throughout the video.

This was my first time range testing the new OMG Cables in such a noisy RF environment. I was crossing my fingers that we would see 200-300meters, maybe 400 if we were lucky. So it was pretty mind blowing to see us hit 1mile (1600meters) and simply running out of road before we found the limits of the trigger range.

Is there a way to check the fidelity of the signal by going into buildings and seeing the signal penetration level? One person on the outside and a roaming person going into buildings just to see if it can penetrate the building material? Maybe leave something in a building then opening it after dark?

Radio waves are weird and may turn the building into a reflector dish.
There's all kinds of interference in an urban environment.
I remember using a water tower as an antenna to extend my range.
I just have to park next to it to use my CB to talk to my dispatcher in Camp Lejeune.
Normally, I couldn't reach them since I was outside the coverage area.

First off thank you all for putting informative videos to help educate us that are trying to learn. I have an android and trying to obtain solid proof my phone has been compromised. I have screen recordings that certs apps I use to log all the shady stuff going on but can't figure out how to identify who or where it's being routed to. Can I use an omg cable on myself to pull the info I need? I hope I am wording this right, it's frustrating trying to figure out ways to do it. I know factory reset will erase everything but that is putting a bandaid on it for only a temporary fix. I want to prove to the local law enforcement they are wrong, to take action, and to learn maybe they should listen to people trying to get help like this instead of leaving it up to someone like me who isn't knowledgeable enough to do it. Any input and help would be literally life saving.

Maybe you can use 2 or more wifi SSIDs to calculate the exact location. (so for example only trigger the payload in a specific room.)
you might be able to measure round trip latency to get an approximate distance.
Or relative signal strength.
Or crazier, if the time between SSID broadcasts is precise you might be able to use time difference between receiving the 2 SSIDs as "I'm x meters further from wifi a than b"
Or a combination of all 3.
