Best investment I ever made was a Ebay purchase of two adjustable speed lab grade heated magnetic stirrers. Came with a selection bag of hard Teflon coated iron pellets, that you drop in the beaker on top of stirrer, to do the mixing/stirring.

A large bar magnet gets spun under the stirrer cover, to spin the iron pellet.

I use them for micro mechanical cleaning, and they make a dam fine cup of whipped hot chocolate, or adult beverage.

I'm not convinced that it's Eddy current, but instead simple magnetic coupling. The principle is used in laboratory glass beakers to stir solutions. A rotating magnet in the base arranged similar to this one coupled to a chemically inert magnet bar with a Teflon shell in the solution.
