You picked rhe reward fight for us. Which turns them into an automated patrol. They will wander around and do hit and run tactics against hoards to draw them away from your base. Mostly its useful cause they dont cost you any guns or ammo they have an infinite supply. But on the hardest difficulty im not sure how well they do when they actually find a group of zombies.

1:20:56 the military actually does come to help you if you give them supplies, you can call them in and theyll arrive to help you fight off hordes but turning them away was a bad idea

You Should try Fort Independence Next. It's smaller then Fort Monroe but only has 1 entrance if I remember right, and its on a peninsula so you can chokepoint zombies easier!

I considering buying this game based on playthrus but the steam reviews are brutal on this game. Saying its a half finished project that seems abandoned. Which is sad cause it looks pretty good.

I think clearing buildings from outside the fort might have been a better long term plan.
