People try to diminish Pep by saying he’s always been at the top clubs. The critics fail to realize he’s earned it. It makes no logical sense for him to win a treble and 2 UCL’s at Barca and downgrade to manage a mid table team. To be at the top level his whole career and never be sacked should be applauded.

The reason Guardiola has never coached small teams is because he was so extraordinarily good from his first job that he made top club immediately. And he's never been sacked since.

Actually, he did coach a small team. His very first job was Barcelona B. A struggling team of teenagers that had dropped to Spain's third division. Pep took that team, brought his discipline and his tactical knowledge and promoted them to the second division as champions.

His work that season was so good that Barcelona president decided to make his First team coach the following season, handing a 37 year old a team full of stars like Ronaldinho, Messi, Etoo, Deco, Yaya Toure, and more top players.

The rest is history.

In my mind, he is the greatest because of his influence on the teams around him. I remember one of the biggest criticisms against him was that his brand of football doesn’t work in England, but Pep forced the premier league into playing his style of football instead of the other way around. Also, doesn’t hurt that he is one of the most decorated managers out there. This year has really solidified him as number 1 for me

Well people could argue he use lot of money but do they remember what kind of player he bought? Players with potential. He was the one shaping them into world class. Sterling as example. Now without pep's mentoring him, can u see how influental this gaffer is really??

Note that in one of those 15 years, he was taking a sabbatical

The reason why Mourinho always end up at small clubs or fallen giant is because he got sacked every single time especially the third season like it some kind of curse. Definitely that can't be compared to Pep because he never got sacked but he choose to leave

Whoever even heard of man city before guardiola. The only reason why the whole international world is rooting for man city at this moment because of what guardiola accomplished in a few years

Pep is going to be the Greatest manager of all times.

If you talk about spendings,

Sir Alex Ferguson broke British transfer record about 7 times. Pep has done that once.

Jose Mourinho on the other hand is the highest spending manager in Premier League history atleast till this time of writing, he's been in English football for atleast 10 seasons in total and won 12 trophies in total, making it 12 trophies in 10 seasons in Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs.

Pep has spent 7 years in the EPL and has won 14 trophies and counting.

So downplaying Pep's achievements to just spending is just dumb.

Rival fans keep shouting that city are a small club. Therefore Pep has turned a small club into world the best club.
Argument over.

Pep has done superbly well to win the 15 trophies that he already has done at City, during his 8 seasons here, including last seasons Champions League but the likelihood is that he will NOT stay at City even half as long as Fergies 26 seasons as manager at Old Trafford, so any comparison between the two, at this point in time, cannot really be there and the most successful Liverpool manager, Bob Paisley, was only manager at Anfield for 9 seasons too, during which he won 3 Champions Leagues, amongst his 20 trophies although he spent a lot longer there in other capacities.

Arsenal Wenger won 17 trophies in 22 years at Arsenal ....

So, in all probability, i doubt that Fergies lengthly period of time, and 38 trophies, including 3 Champions Leagues at Old Trafford will ever be beaten well, until the day someone unexpectedly manages to better it anyway!

He’s not yet, though he does have an argument, but he will be when it’s all said and done for sure

Pep = Coach

Ferguson was mainly a manager for the whole club, letting others do the coaching. Certainly for the 99 treble years and later. Ferguson was a big reason there were players blooded into the youth team throughout his reign. Pep would may have utulized Rio in midfield like John Stones.

Pep beat Sir Alex not once but twice in the UCL final. Pep is the only Coach in Premier League who managed to do a Treble ironically with a Manchester Club. Same amount of More UCL(s) than Him respectively... come on y'all t's obvious he's the GOAT 🤷🏻‍♂️
