For those who are not musicians and might judge this the wrong way...
Sometimes, the EVENT demands it to be a playback instead of live due to how simpler and cheaper it is. They do it a lot in these kinds of "family friendly" events. If it was live, the band would need to come in early that day and have an entire structure set up to do soundcheck, spending hours to get the sound just right. That's costly and very time consuming for the event, so they choose to do it with playbacks, which means the band simply getting there 5 minutes before starting the show. I do agree it looks kinda bad for the band, but this was probably a quick paycheck for them. They'd never use playback in a real live gig, though.

Many talking about playback.. Its sometimes not a viable choice for the event to be live. Mic could have been live though... no reason for it not to be. Great band all the same!!!
