If we spent more time and money making sure that all Canadians were well educated and scientifically literate, we would have no reason to fear public reaction to the results of legitimate research. There would be no question of "message" as more people would be able and willing to accept the truth, whatever that may be.
I realize as I type this that the very premise stands contrary to Conservative ideology, and will likely never happen under the current government.

We also have a war on science where the religious right wants to teach creation science.  It just staggers my mind to think that 65% of Americans believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible.  We should be so lucky to have your problem.

Jian- inform Ms Atwood to watch all Charlotte Iserbyt (good intro at mearbhrach channel) Deliberate Dumbing Down videos, and all Karen Hudes videos. (3 at Greg Hunter channel a good start) plus all Jack Otto videos on Ytube.
