If you want to visit a National Park and avoid the crowds try actually leaving your car. Go a 1/4 mile down a trail and you will leave 99% of the visitors behind.

Your average American family can’t afford a bush plane to see Gates of the Arctic, or fly half way around the world to remote American Samoa. Alternative state parks are nice, but you aren’t going to see the wonders of Yosemite Falls, Old Faithful, or Tunnel View. They are crowded for a reason.

That's right... double or triple your travel time to save waiting time and avoid some crowds.🤦‍♂
The crowds do indeed suck, best you can hope for now is going in the off season.
