Up here in MD we don't get the number of 12+ inch crappie every once in a while I'll catch a 12-16" fish but mainly in the 8-10" range to keep and sifting thru the smaller ones so I eat most whole and that little pull the fins and bones out trick has been a blessing

Great filet tip. I never thought not to cut off at the tail. Thats an awesome technique. Thanks for the video!

The "he believed it" comment cracked me up cause it's so true. The other day my son asked me if there was really midgets sitting in the bushes at fast food restaurants letting them know cars pulled up...I laughed and said no where did you hear that? He said Lmao

We got a crappie type fish up here called sunfish by some, pumpkinseed by others; no limit and they're tiny, but Lawdy! hands down best tasting fish there is.

Probably a dumb question but at :49 how does the trees grow in the water? I live in Indiana and there's tree stumps like that at salamonie reservoir is it cause that use to be a wooded area?

I know I'm late but could you explain seeing fall eggs u mean some of these fish are full in the fall or just scattered eggs ? I have caught and cleaned a lot of crappie all year around and have never seen eggs in a fish in the fall that's very interesting ! I did fillet about a 16" fish in July last year that was maybe 50% full and it seemed odd I figured it was an old fish that had issues during the spawn but wasn't sure

Good video. I use a sharp Rapala filet knife. I think I can do them faster and better. But you have a better lake to catch them.

Did you say there's no limit at reel foot on crappies
