Biology is my major I have been taking a break from school. I need to sharpen my skills in this subject. It has been 3 yrs since I took a Biology class. I plan to become a Scientist and help people with their health in the future.

3:10 Could we say that between the tissue and organs exist a funcional structure, for instance, a nephron is a structure that form a kidney and is more than simple columnar tissue and less than a complete organ ? .

Hello Ma'am, I have a question.
I am from India, and instead of valence, in my textbook there is another term called 'valency'. Are they the same? Because I see the same definition in my textbook as the one you gave in your lecture. I am guessing they are just a change of terms, nothing big. Please confirm.
Thanks!

A cell is encapsulated within the cell membrane. Simple cells like E. Coli are often used in culture as recombinant protein expression systems. I once manufactured an unnatural fluorinated amino acid. In order to express this unnatural fluorinated amino acid in a protein, our colleague chose an acellular protein expression system. I have a hypothesis that sits at the bottom of cell theory. Genomic evolution proceeds Earth's existence by many billions of years. An single-cell Archaeon fell to Earth at during the Archaean Era. It was adapted as an extremophile with a "rubber" membrane. DNA evolution of its spacefaring "rubber" metabolite was the last point of extraterrestrial evolution is some small icy body before it was expelled into galactic space. Rudolf Virchow said "cells come from prexisting cells". On Earth any loose protoplasma would be gobbled up by living cells. Metabolism can proceed at temperatures below freezing. When metabolism is trapped in 'slush', after billions of years a cell membrane can and did evolve. Chemical energy derived from rock, drove this process.
