A Minotaur I rocket launched Nov. 19 from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on the U. S. Air Force's Operationally Responsive Space Office's ORS-3 mission. The ORS-3 Mission, also known as an enabler mission, will demonstrate and validate launch and range improvements for NASA and the military. Aside from the primary payload -- the Space Test Program Satellite-3 (STPSat-3), ORS-3 transported about 28 small cubesat satellites to space. Among the cubesats were NASA's PhoneSat2 and the first cubesat built by high school students.

This was awesome as soon as it launched we ran outside and within 10 seconds saw it clear as day here in the Delmarva peninsula.  My boys were really thrilled..

Caught a glimpse of it by sheer chance just around 8:30 tonight right over Piney Flats, Tennessee.

We watched this on NASA's website last night and we are in North Carolina and we looked towards Virginia and could actually see the flames of the rocket in the sky, could just barely see. It was freaking awesome.

In new york it was impossible to tell between the local air traffic and the rocket till it flashed. Knew definitely when it vanished. Wish I was closer

That puppy left in a HURRY!  You expect a leisurely lift off based on all the films from the Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle missions, but this thing is explosively fast.  Of course, you don't have to worry as much about G-forces on an unmanned flight.

God damn that was loud and quick. Just watched the MAVEN launch yesterday and that didn't look like it was going to get off the pad, this fucking exploded off. Damn that's cool. I want to see a launch in person.
