Look how happy you are when you crank it! Like a naughty school boy! Such a joyous din - love it! Great vid, and really classy playing. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

I own a 2006 McCarty, and I would have to say that it is the "Smoothest" sounding PRS I have ever heard. I have had 2 CU 24s and a Single Cut Trem. I ended up trading each of them for a Les Paul because the tone on all of them just did not quite get me there. Then I would always miss the playability and tuning stability of the PRS. If I could just find a PRS that had that full fat tone of a Les Paul, I would be happy. Enter - the McCarty. Folks, this is the real deal. There is something about the McCarty pickups that are just so smooth and vintage. Les Pauls are great, and I still like them, but with my McCarty, I don't miss my LPs like I did with the other PRS guitars that I have had. This thing just sings. I play everything from smooth jazz, to 70s RnB to Gospel and Praise & Worship. This guitar will handle anything that you through at it.

Man finally he comes alive - as he plays a little metal/rock lick. Dude, do more reviews in this manner, cause you are a great player just need to loosen up more. Cheers bro!

Great guitars...I used Les Pauls for many years...love em, still do...but these add a little more to the tonal mix. These are superbly crafted in Maryland. I used a LP for 25 years in a working band but these will cover the LP tone with as much sustain plus a little more tonal options. The scale (25") is a tad longer than a LP (Fender is 25 1/2) for a little more room for my big hands. High consistent quality is the name of the game...all are finely detailed. I've owned 4 PRS's and about 15 plus Les Pauls. BTW I love Teles and Strats too...and still use them. (The pic is me in 64 with my 57 Strat). Play what you dig, if it inspires you. When I play, I take the PRS and a Tele or 335 type. BTW check out David Grissom live at the Saxon Pub on youtube for some killer tones.

Hey Mark, great video, made laugh with your "metal" joke!! :-)
I've been following your videos not because of the gear reviews, but because I really like your playing style and chops!
Best regards.

@ummiification I'm pretty sure that all SE models are made in korea, and all signature/normal models (like the McCarty) are made in the US.

McCarty pickups are underrated AS Got a McCarty from the early aughts, pups sound amazing. Never liked coil tap on anything, tho.

Is there any tonal difference with the custom 22? Does thr mccarty sound better due to thicker body?
