ΛΙΒΥΗ | Καταδίκασαν τον Χαφτάρ...!!! - (31.7.2022)[Eng subs]

Σε δύσκολη θέση φαίνεται ότι περιήλθε ο γνωστός και αγαπητός στους Έλληνες Λίβυος στρατάρχης Χαλιφά Χαφτάρ, καθώς Αμερικανικό δικαστήριο τον καταδίκασε την Παρασκευή, για τον βασανισμό και την δολοφονία Λίβυων πολιτών.
Αυτό αναφέρουν ξένα μέσα ενημέρωσης, όπως το France24, που μιλάνε για ένα σημαντικό πρόβλημα που αντιμετωπίζει πλέον ο στρατάρχης, αν και έχει το δικαίωμα να ασκήσει έφεση και να υπάρξει αλλαγή της απόφασης.
Αναλυτικότερα, μετά από αστικές αγωγές που κατατέθηκαν εναντίον του, το 2019 και το 2020, από συγγενείς Λίβυων πολιτών που έχασαν την ζωή τους, κατά την διάρκεια της αποτυχημένης προσπάθειας των δυνάμεων του Χαφτάρ, να καταλάβουν την πρωτεύουσα της Λιβύης Τρίπολη, ο Χαφτάρ καταδικάστηκε από Αμερικανό δικαστή, ότι διέταξε τα βασανιστήρια αυτών των πολιτών και τις εξωδικαστικές δολοφονίες τους, και έτσι θα πρέπει να προβεί στην αποζημίωση τους.
Και αν κάποιος αναρωτηθεί πως και μπόρεσε ένα Αμερικανικό δικαστήριο να καταδικάσει τον Χαφτάρ, να υπενθυμίσουμε ότι ο στρατάρχης διαθέτει και την αμερικανική υπηκοότητα, αφού έζησε εκεί για τουλάχιστον 20 χρόνια.
Βαρύ χτύπημα λοιπόν αυτή η καταδίκη για τον Χαφτάρ, που προσπάθησε να αποδιώξει τους φιλότουρκους από τη Λιβύη, αφού μπορεί να παίξει ρόλο και στις μελλοντικές εκλογές που θα διεξαχθούν στη Λιβύη και που ο στρατάρχης πολύ πιθανόν να λάβει μέρος.

It seems that the Libyan marshal Khalifa Haftar, known and loved by the Greeks, has found himself in a difficult position, as a US court sentenced him on Friday, for torturing and killing Libyan citizens.
This is reported by foreign media, such as France24, who talk about a major problem that the marshal is now facing, although he has the right to appeal and have the decision changed.
More specifically, after civil lawsuits filed against him, in 2019 and 2020, by relatives of Libyan citizens who lost their lives, during the failed attempt by Haftar's forces to capture the Libyan capital Tripoli, Haftar was convicted by a US judge, that he ordered the torture of these citizens and their extrajudicial killings, and thus he should proceed with their compensation.
And if anyone wonders how a US court was able to convict Haftar, lets remind you that the marshal also has US citizenship, having lived there for at least 20 years.
This conviction is therefore a heavy blow for Haftar, who tried to expel the pro-Turks from Libya, since it may also play a role in the future elections that will be held in Libya, in which the marshal will very likely take part.
