Watching Carnando is like watching a shorter Setiawan, he's calm and collected, hard to read, but very smart in front of the net. He set the pace of the game, as if he's playing everyone, and he trust Maulana a LOT to do the finishing. Maulana was damn near spotless in his play; his smashes are harsh, steep, unforgiving, and breaks through Kang/Seo's defense before they could even realize what's going on. Can't wait to see what the future holds for this new pair!

Clearly the Koreans did not have a good day. Carnando has been playing like a mini Setiawan this tournament, and yet the Koreans kept challenging him. Per Kenny Rogers, you gotta know when to fold'em, and they only backed off in the latter half of the 3rd set, lifting. Kang has improved his defense, which contributed to their WC title, but he also needs to stop lifting straight, as if his defense was equal to his partner's. It's only sensible to lift so that the straight smash goes to the stronger player. Surely all their opponents know to smash on Kang, much like when LYD played with Ko and later Yoo, so the least he could do is lift cross.
