Actually, from his point of view, it's a pretty smart thing to do. The release of these videos is good for local as well as international consumption and tries to portray him gives as statesman-like & caring about his people. My thoughts are 'why if he has them under the thumb does he need to do this'? Maybe there is discontent bubbling away below the surface.
